About Dr. Glattes

 

Rudolph Christopher Glattes, MD, specializes in orthopedic spine surgery. Dr. Glattes sees patients at Elite Sports Medicine + Orthopedics’s Midtown, Green Hills, and Centennial locations in Nashville and Cool Springs office in Franklin, Tennessee. 

Dr. Glattes graduated from the University of Kansas School of Medicine and continued his education with a surgical internship and orthopedic surgery residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He followed this with a spinal surgery fellowship, training with some of the world’s most renowned leaders in the field at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri.

Dr. Glattes is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and a member of the North American Spine Society.

As an orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Glattes has maintained a practice limited to spinal surgery and spinal rehabilitation since 2002. He served as an assistant professor at the University of Kansas School of Medicine for five years prior to joining Elite Sports Medicine + Orthopedics in 2008. He has developed excellent collegial relationships with other spinal surgeons in the Nashville area to provide multidisciplinary approaches to patient care.

Dr. Glattes is a team physician for both Belmont and Lipscomb Universities. He enjoys helping the professional, collegiate, and high school level athletes reach their competitive goals. He has a special interest in daily lifestyle improvements for all of his patients. He strongly encourages his patients to move into specialized personal training for continued health and personal fulfillment after completing their physical therapy regimens.

His personal interests include spending time with family, exercise and weight training, and managing the family farm in western Williamson County, Tennessee. He has been recognized as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor from 2017-2020.

CORINNE GRGAS, FNP-BC

Originally from Baltimore, MD, Corinne N. Grgas, a Nurse Practioner (NP), received her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Belmont University. Prior to completing her doctoral studies, Corinne attended Trevecca Nazarene University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Corinne works primarily with Dr. R. Chris Glattes, in support of his practice specializing in surgery of the Spine.

BURTON ELROD III, PA-C

Burton Elrod III, a Physician Assistant (PA-C), received his Master of Science in Medicine from Trevecca Nazarene University. Prior to completing his graduate studies, Burton attended Lipscomb University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree. He works primarily with Dr. Rudolph Christopher Glattes, specializing in spine surgery. In his free time, Burton enjoys CrossFit, hiking, snowboarding, riding his motorcycle, and spending time with his daughter, Ava.

JEN JACKSON, PA-C

Jen received her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Prior to her graduate studies, Jen attended Jacksonville State University, where she graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology/Chemistry, and special honors in Biology. During her time as an undergrad, she had orthopedic experience working as an athletic trainer for the Jacksonville State University Football team. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, going to concerts, and hanging out with her cute yellow lab, Bentley.
