X-Ray Technologist

Do you like working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while still having a good time?

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES – PATIENT SERVICES

  • Greets patients and escorts them from the exam room to the radiology department
  • Prepares patients for x-ray by positioning them in such a way that causes the least discomfort
  • instructs patient about how to position their body appropriately, hold their breath, etc.
  • Obtains clear images of the anatomy requested by the physician using appropriate safety precautions, wearing protective equipment, and radiation dosimeter at all times
  • Captures, processes, and transmits images according to protocol; returns patient to the examination room once the x-ray procedure is complete
  • Verifies that the encounter form has been marked appropriately prior to performing the x-ray examination

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES – RADIOLOGIC PREPARATION AND EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE

  • Receives outside exams as they are delivered to the practice and imports them into the PACS system
  • Transfers images to a disc in the event they are needed outside the office
  • Takes radiology stock inventory and communicates supply shortages to the manager
  • Ensures radiology equipment is in good working order and communicate any maintenance issues to radiology manager

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma required
  • Successful completion of an accredited radiology program
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist licensure (ARRT and State of Tennessee full-scope X-ray) required
  • Training in orthopedics is a plus
