Arthroscopic Surgery of the Knee, Shoulder, Hip, Elbow

Dr. Martin specializes in sports injuries of the knee, hip, shoulder and elbow for both adults and children. Dr. Martin graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in biological science and minor in French Linguistics and also graduated from Oklahoma State University Center for Health Science’s College with a Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine. Her internship and orthopedic surgical residency was completed at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. This was followed by two fellowships: one for orthopedic surgery in sports medicine at the American Sport Medicine Institute in Birmingham, AL and the other in Trauma, through the AO Trauma exchange, at the University of Cape Town in South Africa. Dr. Martin has been practicing orthopedics in Birmingham, AL since 2011. She has been a team physician for many high school, college, and sports clubs teams, including international travel with the US Women’s National Soccer team program and Major League Soccer. Since 2012, Dr. Martin has served as chair of the Major League Soccer Medical Symposium and education committee. She often helps run injury prevention workshops with the MLS organization in conjunction with MLS works on public service initiatives. Lastly, she also continues to stay active with Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine education, both as a curriculum developer and as a board test writer.
