Dr. Dovan attended medical school at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, where he was inducted into AOA, the medical honor society. He completed his residency at Vanderbilt University and his fellowship in surgery of the hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder at the prestigious Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri. He has recently relocated to Nashville, Tennessee after four years in a busy practice in Georgia.
Dr. Dovan is a team physician for David Lipscomb High School and Lipscomb University and has also consulted in the care of many professional athletes including NFL and NHL players.
He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons, is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, and has received his Certificate of Added Qualifications in Surgery of the Hand.
